Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never done reformer pilates before, what should I expect?

Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Doing this on reformer machine adds more resistance and endless variations! The reformer may look daunting to beginners, but after one or two workouts you will quickly understand what all of the hype is about!

What should I wear?

It’s best to be comfortable so leave those jeans at home! Exercise leggings and shorts are best and a top you can move in well. For your feet, we use sticky socks so you don’t slip around on the machine or bare-feet are also fine!

I can bring my child?

Absolutely! When booking, just let us know you will be bringing your little person along so we can make sure our carer is here to look after them. 50 minutes of “you time” and 50 minutes of engaging play for your little one, its a win win!

How long are your classes?

Classes run for 45 minutes, starting with quick stretch to warm you up and then moving through exercises to grab all those muscles you didn’t even know you had!
Finishing off with a nice stretch to relax out all the muscles you just worked.

What happens if I can’t make it?

Life gets in the way sometimes but we also need to run a business. We allow you to cancel 12 hours before your 1:1 session for free otherwise you will be charged the full amount. In saying that we will always consider the things out of your control which refrain you from being unable to attend.

How many sessions do you recommend?

“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.” Joseph Pilates

One session a week alongside other forms of exercise if a great starting block. Obviously the more you do, the more you will see results!

What if I have an injury?

Getting clearance from your health professional or physio is advised so you can pass on the do’s and don’ts to us. Once we have that information we can customise a class for you.

I’ve had a baby recently or I am pregnant, can I join?

We would love to see you! If you have recently had a baby I would advise you to first get a 6 week post check or see a physio that specialising in women’s health to get the all clear. If you are pregnant, just let us know how far along you are as there are certain exercises you can’t do in different trimesters.
